Rebecca is a postdoctoral fellow working at the Australian National University (School of Culture, History and Language) and the University of Queensland (School of Earth and Environmental Sciences). She trained in Geography at the University of Sydney, and specializes in palaeoecology (palynology) and sedimentology.

A key focus of Rebecca’s research is using the palaeoenvironmental record to reconstruct the response dynamics of sub-tropical and tropical ecosystems to climatic and human drivers of change over timescale ranging from decades to tens-of-thousands of years. Her work is predominantly based in mainland and insular south-east Asia and subtropical Australia.

An essential item in Rebecca’s toolkit:

“A microscope and APSA (Australasian Pollen and Spore Atlas)!”
