Originally from Slovenia, Mojca is a PhD candidate at JCU, Cairns. Her background is in geology and environmental science and she has worked as a  government Nature Conservation Advisor for more than a decade before coming to Australia.

Mojca also collaborated on studies exploring early human colonization patterns into Australia, where palaeogeography and oceanic drift modelling is used to assess potential crossing points from Indonesia into Australia, specifically Sahul.

Her  PhD research focuses on understanding deep-time landscape (palaeoenvironmental) contexts of the development and use of rockshelter sites across NW Queensland
