Fiona’s research focuses on issues of chronology associated with natural ecosystems and human economy. Her specific interest is the interpretation of radiocarbon values of animals that uptake carbon from both marine and terrestrial sources. Fiona has used her knowledge, in combination with Bayesian statistical methodologies, to solve some of the most difficult chronological problems in archaeology.

An essential item in Fiona’s toolkit:

“Research is all about collaboration – it is impossible without other people.”
