Feli is a palaeoecologist with a background in geology and geography.  Most of her work has been on pollen and charcoal records from lake and swamp records from Tasmania, with a PhD focused on the Late Glacial and Holocene palaeoecology of the Lake St Clair Region in Tasmania.

She has worked on records from a variety of archives ranging from lake and swamp sediments, river sediments, archaeological deposits to stick nest rat middens and from a variety of locations including other parts of Australia, New Zealand, Chile, SE Asia and the Indian Ocean.
